"Plains Zebra"- original watercolor painting

Also called the common zebra, the plains zebra (Equus burchell) is the most numerous of the 3 zebra species that exist in Africa today. They can be distinguished from Grevy’s zebra and the mountain zebra by having broader stripes that have faint stripes in between the broader ones. Since these stripe patterns are unique to each zebra, it makes it possible for a foal to quickly recognize its mother amongst the herd.
