The great egret, also called the white egret, were once hunted for their elegant breeding plumes.

This drawing was part of Artists for Conservation's 2018-2019 International Exhibit of Nature in Art. It was sold while touring at the Sonora Desert Museum in Arizona, USA. A portion of the proceeds was donated to AFC and Wild at Heart Wildlife Refuge Centre in Lively, Ontario.
