		Portrait of a German Shepherd police k-9 dog with the department badge and US flag on a black background. The lettering below the dog was later changed to a nameplate with inscription "In Honor of SSDK9's Past, Present & Future".

The basic outline sketch of the police dog drawing.		The eyes are always drawn first.  They are the most  important part of the portrait.

Although too small to see in this image, the individual hairs are added one by one.		Kyzmo's beautiful erect ears makes him look very alert and ready for action!
Update 5		Update 6
In this step I completed the muzzle and cheeks and started working on the area around the chin.		The USA flag was colored in this step and more work was done on the dog's neck/collar.

The large badge iscomplete as well as Kyzmo's sheriff badge/ and the fur in the neck area. The blacks will be darkened in the next step.		The rich black background was achieved using pure carbon sticks. This logo/portrait now looks a whole lot more majestic!
